Former Chipolopolo coach MILUTIN SREDOJEVIC says excessive experimentation in player selection contributed to Zambia’s poor performance at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations -AFCON. SREDOJEVIC says one of the main challenges facing the Chipolopolo team was an imbalance between young and experienced players. He explains that for a tournament of AFCON’s scale, Zambia would have benefited more from relying on seasoned players to provide leadership and stability on the pitch. SREDOJEVIC adds that to address the situation, there is a need for a clear long-term strategy outlining how players are developed and gradually integrated into the national team.
