Saudi Arabia based forward Fashion Sakala and Tanzania based midfielder Clatous Chota Chama have already joined the Chipolopolo camp ahead of the back to back 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Tanzania and Niger. Chama who missed the loss to Morocco makes a return to the squad while Sakala who played in the Morocco game will be aiming to play back to back games for the first time since the 2023 AFCON. The duo and a local assemblage of the Chipolopolo Boys are scheduled to leave for Zanzibar this afternoon. Zambia are currently occupying 4th place with 6 points to their name after 6 games while Morocco lead the group with 21 points and have already qualified to the global showpiece. Tanzania are second with 10 points while Niger sit third with 9 points after playing 6 games. Zambia needs to win both games to stand a chance to finish second while Tanzania needs to win against Zambia to stay in the forefront for the race for second place while Niger also have a chance to finish second with two wins in their last two games. Zambia plays Tanzania on Wednesday in a Group E FIFA World Cup qualifier in Zanzibar at the Amani Stadium. Zambia will face Tanzania away in Zanzibar on Wednesday, October, 8th before hosting Niger on Sunday, October 12th.
