Chipolopolo Boys forward Fashion Sakala says the Copper Bullets want to get a win over the Palancas Negras in tomorrow’s international friendly match.
Zambia faces Angola on Tuesday in a FIFA International Friendly with both teams using it to prepare for the Morocco 2025 AFCON.
Sakala who was speaking in a pre match press conference was quick to praise the beauty of the host country and how developed it is.
The Al Fahya striker says he expects nothing less than a win on Tuesday evening as the two neighbors square off.
Sakala admitted that Angola is a good side having watched their 2-0 loss to 8 time Balloon D’or winner Lionel Messi led World Champions, Argentina.
“Yeah, it’s my first time to come to Angola. I feel great, to be honest. At least I’ve seen the streets on the way to the stadium. It’s a very beautiful country well developed. I’m very happy to be here. We’re actually talking about it with the players that it’s actually a very great place to be. It’s a nice place, a nice country,” he said.
“I think I don’t expect way less than a win. I think I’m looking forward and very confident in the team that the team will definitely fight for a win. Because I know how important this game is. It’s a very important preparation for us towards the Africa Cup of Nations. And each and every player is very confident. We are working hard together to make sure that at least we get a win tomorrow and make our country proud.”
“What I know is that Angola has a very good team. I watched the game against Argentina. They did so well. They played so well. But my main focus is about our team. I think what I’m looking forward to is how Zambia is going to play, of course, our team. All I want to see is obviously confidence and how we are going to perform. What we want is to at least get a win. For me, that’s more important. But what I know is that Angola, they have a very good national team, but we are ready to fight,” he added.
Kick off at the November 11 Stadium is set for 18h00 Central African Time.
